What does it mean to be "Off-Topic"?
To be Off-Topic can mean a lot of things.. For the short story it means to be different or out of the norm, otherwise known as "the topic".
For the long version, read below.
Off-Topic means more than just a catchy name for an auto styling company. I (Justin) started to align myself with the Off-Topic brand before I even knew any of this was a possibility. The name sparked from my inability to fit the mold in the car community, specifically originating around social media.
I began to pull towards the "Off-Topic" way as I cared less and less about presence in the car world and more about being honest about struggles, plateaus and triumphs. It helped me move from being a "here is the final product look what I did" type of guy to "Here is my process, I struggled with this, this is going on in my life, what is going on in yours?" It helped bring a sense of reality and build real relationships on the otherwise superficial platform of social media. Really transforming how I approach everything in life.
My hope with Off-Topic Auto Styling is to carry those values of honesty, reality, precision and creating unique finished products for all to enjoy.
